On Monday 6th July Google launched their new real estate mapping tool which allows the public to search for properties for sale. The site lets home buyers view agents listings, search for nearby schools, restaurants and public transport, as well as find directions between a property and their favourite places. Google real estate maps provide an Ariel view of what is currently on the market in a particular area.
This is a fantastic and welcomed tool for the public and when used with Google street view (street level photographs), it can provide a more thorough picture of the neighbourhood. This could be particularly suitable for interstate and overseas buyers.
Can’t attend an open house? Look up the property on google maps, browse the listing, look at the photos, see the properties position on the map, take a virtual walk up the street with google street view, zoom out and see if there are any parks or beaches nearby and its relation to train stations and bus stops.
According to a recent Nielson report 87% of buyers do research online so this is a great new development for real estate agents, sellers and buyers.
