Cronulla Mall Report: It’s April already!

photo 1 (2)With all the rain and bleak weather lately, Summer has well and truly left our sights as we head into the colder months…

Walking down the Mall from the north end, Little Paw Café has added some colour to the Mall with their bright umbrellas, similar to Oregano Café’s colourful outdoor setting.

photo 2 (1)There are some Autumn sales throughout the Mall – Forever Fashion has 20-40% off selected items and Freelance Shoes is offering a “buy 1 pair and get the 2nd pair half price” sale for all you shoe lovers.

photo 1 (3)The former iconic Commonwealth Bank is still For Lease and has been for quite a long time now. Chocpad also remains vacant with For Lease signs in the window as well.

Opposite South Cronulla Beach, Splatt “Coffee By Day, Wine By Night” has new signage up and looks ready to open the doors shortly we hope.

photo 2 (2)Simone’s On The Park still remains vacant, will anything ever re-open here?!

Just walked past Beach & Bay’s sold sticker on 5/5 McDonald St which went up last night. Happy days for our vendors and purchasers. We love selling in Cronulla, now a food, wine and property hot spot! Cronulla is well and truly on the map!

photo (18)The Cronulla Easter Show is only 10 days away, time to prepare ourselves for a weekend full of activities, show bags, rides, food and of course, chocolate! See you there!

Auction Sales Before Easter

This week all the auctions are midweek to avoid the 4 day long weekend which is traditionally a poor weekend to choose to auction your property. Most agents encourage vendors to schedule an auction prior to Easter or go for a longer campaign and hold the auction the following weekend. Thus last Saturday was a huge weekend for the Sydney property market with overall a clearance rate of 71% with 485 properties going to auction (Australian Property Monitors Sydney statistics).

With the weather still unseasonably warm, along with the ocean temperature this weekend has all the ingredients for a perfect getaway to that weekender on the South or North Coast before winter sets in. If you are staying at home there are plenty of distractions with the Easter Show coming to Cronulla!

Good luck to those vendors selling mid week and we hope everyone enjoys their 4 day weekend, we know we will!

2013 Cronulla Easter Show

Easter is fast approaching! This year Easter is early and before the school holidays, the perfect 4 day long weekend opportunity to escape to the holiday house before the colder weather rolls in! If you are looking to rent a holiday house we have a few options in Mollymook but if you are staying home Cronulla will be holding the Easter Show in Cronulla Mall again this year.

The Cronulla Easter Show kicks off in Cronulla Plaza for 2013 on Friday 29th March at 10am and runs for 4 days finishing at 4pm on Monday 1st April. Wandering entertainers, market stalls, activity stalls, face painting, carnival rides, showbags and much more will make your Easter extra special at Cronulla.

How much?
It’s FREE! The event is run by a local council group. PLUS it’s nice and close to home without the stress or crowds out at the Sydney Royal Easter Show at Homebush!

Events program:

  • Circus School – 10am to 4pm daily (free)
  • Animal Farm – 10am to 4pm daily ($3 per child or $5 for 2 children, adults free)
  • NEW Animal Caper Shows – Fri, Sat & Sun 1pm, 2pm & 3pm (free)
  • Hot Potato – Fri & Mon 11am to 2pm
  • Kush Carnivale on Stilts – Sat & Sun from Noon to 3pm
  • Pony Rides – Sun 10am to 4pm
  • Showbags – You don’t have to head into Homebush for showbags, Cronulla has everything and more including Spongebob Squarepants, Mickey Mouse, Angry Birds, Dora the Explorer, My Little Pony, Thomas the Tank Engine and Ben 10! Whether you’re obsessed with lollies or a keen magician, you’ll be able to find just what you’re looking for with the easy to download Cronulla Showbag Guide.

How to get here?
Parking in Cronulla is bad at the best of times (see parking map here) let alone during special events, but luckily there are alternatives. With trains terminating at Cronulla train station very frequently, this is definitely an option to consider if you are traveling from nearby suburbs. Bicycle racks are also located at Cronulla Station, along Cronulla St (near Cold Rock Ice Creamery) and on the ground floor of the Croydon St car park.

And for all those selling their properties, we have commenced the mad
rush to Easter! Good luck!

The Cronulla Mall Report: Easter is here!

Overall the weather has been very kind to students, parents and grandparents for the school holidays, Cronulla Mall has been busy, busy, busy for these last 2 weeks and if it could just last for this Easter weekend I am sure all the shop owners in Cronulla Mall will be very happy! Yesterday the rides, food caravans and showbag trailers arrived and started setting up for the Cronulla Easter show which started this morning. With the sun shining and the crowds arriving, right now Cronulla Mall looks and feels like summer not autumn!

So as I step around the rides, farm animals, Ben 10,  food stalls and painted faces,  I notice that there is finally a “Leased” sticker at 81 Cronulla St, hoorah! Wonder if the rumour mill is correct about the apartment display office moving in? Can anyone confirm?

Further up the Mall, between Rip Curl and Pacific Meats, A Trend fashion store now has a sign on the window that they are relocating, no indication of where, but this means another very large store becoming available in the Mall, loads of opportunity here!

Further up again, Good to Go kiosk is now 5th Season selling gourmet coffee and food.

Has anyone tried Cafe Parlo (north end of Mall on the same side as Cronulla Cinemas)? I haven’t yet but they currently have a $19 movie ticket deal which includes a main meal and movie ticket and from Tues to Thursday they have half priced mains!

But really today is all about the Cronulla Easter Show, the schedule over the next few days includes:

  • Meet and greet Ben 10
  • Kids Magic World
  • Carnival rides
  • Tasty food and show bags
  • Animal farm
  • Face painting
  • Flower stilt walkers
  • Easter bunny

This is a handy, less expensive option than the Sydney Royal Easter Show and any parent, grandparent, aunty or uncle trying to find a way to fill in a few hours with the kids should pay Cronulla Mall a visit!
