What a day! October has almost ended and it feels like Summer already!
Firstly, if any one is looking for last minute Halloween costumes and accessories pop into Dollar King in the Mall, it has it all!
Fingers crossed the weather stays this wonderful for the weekend, especially with the Beachfest on at Dunningham Park, Peryman Square and the Plaza. Retro cars will be on display for judging and awards with live bands and solo performers over the two days.
Starting from the south, half of Eclectic Home & Garden sits empty waiting for a new shop owner.
We finally have a new tenant in the former Chocpad shop – Leah’s Wax Works has moved in! Further down the mall Classic Nails Beauty and Waxing has also moved into the former Body Pro Supplements store.
Unfortunately we’re still eagerly waiting to see who will eventually move into the old Australand Greenhills Beach office.
Forever Fashion are closing down with 50% of storewide. I wonder what new store will appear here?!
The optometrists near Code Orange are surrounded by builders and scaffolding, a new store layout perhaps?
Nutrition station is opening soon where La Luna was and the local computer store next door to McDonalds and the Cronulla Cinemas entrance has also closed.
Closer to the beach new coffee shop Bianchini’s is doing a roaring trade, looks like a popular spot!
It’s that time of year again! The 2013 Cronulla Spring Festival will kick off on Saturday 14th September at 10am and conclude on Sunday 15th September at 4pm.
This year the Cronulla Spring Festival is all about embracing our beach lifestyle with comic lifeguards, beach fashions, a surf rider and giant seagulls. Fingers crossed this beautiful Spring weather will continue!
Cronulla will come alive over the weekend with over 120 market stalls set to take up the Mall and Surf Rd with plenty of activities in Monro Park & Dunningham Park planned.
The Pavilion Stage
Head on down to the Pavilion Stage for live shows, entertainment and musicians performing throughout the weekend including:
The New Adventures of Peter Pan
Ronald McDonald & Friends Show
Kirrawee High School Band
Royal Australian Navy Band
Sea Naturals Capella Choir
Travel down to the southern end of the Mall for great, low-cost kids activities including the much-loved animal farm, mini golf, and face painting.
Don’t forget about the Wellbeing Fair in Monro Park, the RSL Motoring Enthusiasts Club’s Show & Shine event near the giant slide on Surf Rd, the Sutherland Shire Marine & Boat Show on the beach front at North Cronulla (Dunningham Park & Peryman Square) and The Arts Theatre in Surf Rd celebrating their 50th birthday with an open house viewing over the weekend.
Cronulla St & Surf Rd will be closed from 4am on Saturday 14th September until 7pm on Sunday 15th September, so don’t leave your car parked in the Mall when you head out on Friday night! Surf Lane will remain open. Please keep in mind that parking will be almost impossible, consider catching the train or the bus if possible!
You may be back at work but the celebrations aren’t over yet! There a number of events happening in Cronulla to mark the momentous 26th of January… Keep reading!

My plan is to vote as soon as the polling booths open this weekend then head to the Mall for Spring Fair, then the Marine & Boat Show and then off to my open homes before the crowds arrive. This weekend Cronulla is on show and if this weather continues it will be the perfect weekend for Cronulla to shine.
Some of the events for the weekend include:
Over 100 stalls selling unique gifts, swimwear, fashion and homewares
Kids favourites including face painting, an animal farm & popular rides
Wellbeing Fair @ Monro Park, with local musicians providing background music
Cronulla Plaza Pavilion Stage entertainment, starting from 10am on Sat & Sun
And of course all of the shops, restaurants and cafe’s in the Mall and surrounds will be open business as usual.
The Sutherland Shire Marine & Boat Show is being held for the first time this weekend at Dunningham Park so don’t forget to check it out, jet skis, boats and boating accessories will be on show.
