What does an aunty do with two and a half year old niece who must be kept busy? Keeping in mind that this aunty must repeatedly outdo herself with every outing. Well I found myself on the ferry to Bundeena this week on a beautiful sunny winters day. The new Bundeena ferry wharf opened last week so why not take the trip to check it out? Last week’s high seas saw an early test for the new wharf and it was closed for a few days. For $5.70 each way the Bundeena to Cronulla ferry ride must be one of the cheapest amusement rides around. The new wharf at Bundeena looks great and there were workers there still making final touches. Once you get to Bundeena you can walk 100m down the road to the north-facing beach, the play equipment in the reserve behind the beach or the cafes across the road. A few hours in this heavenly destination with views out to sea, the Hacking and the city it is enough to recharge the batteries and be ready for the working week and for a two year old to be tired and ready for a nap.
Thanks Bundeena, we will be back.
