What Can I Cook? Recipe Book by Bundeena Author

The GFC changed the direction of a lot of people’s lives. For Bundeena resident Nicole Everett, getting retrenched from her high pressure IT job meant she could think about what she really wanted to do that would be inspiring and fulfilling. She started to explore her passion for cooking and developed an idea for a simple, easy to follow recipe book which uses everyday items. Learn more about What Can I Cook? below;

Briefly tell us about What Can I Cook?
What Can I Cook contains quick, easy, nutritious recipes using the ingredients you already have in your cupboard.  The can is the base ingredient and I have picked 10 cans and have 10 recipes for each can.

How long did it take from idea to print?
1 and half years

Best meal to whip up quickly after a long day?
Chicken and broccoli pasta bake.

Do your recipes get the tick of approval from kids?
Yes, they love them.  I have an 8 year old and 4 year old and their favourite is the tuna rice casserole, they always have thirds.

Favourite restaurants/cafes in The Sutherland Shire?
I love going to Café Manna in Bundeena for breakfast.   A new favourite is Jack and Jude’s in Engadine, they have the best scrambled eggs.

Favourite places to buy groceries in the Sutherland Shire?
I am always cooking to a budget so I buy my basic ingredients from Aldi and then go into Franklins for anything I can’t get in Aldi.  I like to buy my fruit and vegetables from Best Fresh in Sutherland.

Where can we buy the book?
You can buy it online at www.whatcanicook.com.au.  It is also available at Bundeena Post and Gift Shop and Bundeena Newsagency.

A second book is in the making, can you give us a hint to its theme?
More recipes using the ingredients you already have in your cupboard.

Finish this sentence “I Love Cronulla” because….
It has cafes and great restaurants, fantastic clothes shops, a movie theatre, the beach and a hotel.  What more can you want and it is only a ferry ride away from home.
